Ahead of Saturday's ALL TICKET trip to leaders Lincoln City, Cobblers boss Keith Curle has provided an injury update on Jay Williams, Sam Foley and on-loan Burton Albion striker Marvin Sordell.
“Jay should be back in contention for Saturday but Sam and Marvin won’t be,” he said.
“Marvin has picked up a slight tear in the medial ligament which has been identified on a scan and we don’t want to make that worse.
“It is fairly minor, he could play on Saturday and perform but it wouldn’t be at the level I need him at or certainly at the level that he wants to be at.
“With a player of Marvin’s quality we’ve taken the view that we’d rather take a week or two to get him at that level where I need him to be.
“He showed his quality in the 60 minutes he did have on Saturday and he will be another great option to have when he’s back and 100% effective.”
