The first team naturally receive the majority of the spotlight in any football club, but here at Northampton Town we have a whole number of different teams playing within the club's infrastructure who we are very proud of and we think it is only right and proper that we shine a light on their progress from time to time.
In the Northampton Town Academy the under 18s won the EFL Youth Alliance South East Division before Christmas of course, and were presented with their trophy at the MK Dons game.
The Cobblers have qualified for the top level Merit Division and began that phase of the season with a 3-1 win over Oxford United.
The Northampton Town under 16s also won their league before Christmas (see below).
The Northampton Town Football & Education programme is a recent addition to the club's infrastructure, with a second centre at St Crispins opened by HRH the Princess Royal in September.
The programme sees students combine football and education on a full time basis, and the Northampton Town Football & Education programme A team currently sit third in the NFYL South Championship behind Watford and Crystal Palace but ahead of the likes of West Ham United, Southampton and Oxford United.
In terms of female football, the Northampton Town Ladies currently top the East Midlands Womens Football League while our Football & Education programme under 19 female side are currently sitting 3rd in the EFL Trust Futsal league.
Of course, this is before we even mention the multi disability squads, walking football, Downs Syndrome squads and much more who are all doing the club very proud.
