COLIN WEST - 'THE CHALLENGE IS TO BUILD ON THE LAST TWO RESULTS'

The Cobblers assistant boss looks ahead to Saturday's game with Crawley Town

Cobblers assistant boss Colin West has challenged the squad to build on two excellent away results as he previews Saturday’s home game against Crawley Town.

“We’ve had two really good results against Tranmere and Lincoln and more importantly two good performances which has put us in good spirits,” he said.

“We let ourselves down in our last home game against Colchester and when we spoke about the two away games we felt they would be difficult but we approached them in the right way and with what we thought were the right tactics.

“I think inconsistency at this level frustrates a lot of managers and the mindset that we are trying to instil into the players is that we need to approach every game in the same way.

“We have just had two really good gritty performances but that will mean nothing if we don’t go and back that up against Crawley on Saturday.

“Crawley are a bit like ourselves in that their form is a little bit up and down, we’ve had some good results at home, I think we’ve only lost once in the league since we’ve been here but we know it will be a tough task.”
