The Northampton Town under 16 Academy side, led by Gary Mills and Jim Scott, have finished as runners up in the National EFL Youth Alliance after being edged out by Doncaster Rovers in the final at Derby on Sunday.
The Cobblers qualified for the EFL Youth Alliance Southern Division final for the second season in a row having won the under 16s EFL Youth Alliance South East Division, winning five and drawing one of their seven fixtures.
They then beat Portsmouth, who won the South West Division, in that Southern Division final to qualify for the national final, against northern winners Doncaster Rovers, who came out on top in Sunday's game.
Meanwhile, the Northampton Town under 18s remain top of their EFL Youth Alliance South East Division table.
