KEITH CURLE CHALLENGES PLAYERS TO START ANOTHER GOOD RUN

The Cobblers boss looks ahead

12 December 2019

Cobblers boss Keith Curle says he has set the players the challenge of bouncing back from the narrow loss at Exeter City as he previews Saturday’s home game against Forest Green Rovers.

“We will be looking for a reaction, I like setting the players challenges and the next one now is how quickly we can go on another run,” he said.

“The level of performance is key and we have that understanding throughout the team and the whole squad of how we want to play.

“We know from previous results that if we hit our targets individually and collectively we will get results and we don’t change that. We have a good belief in what we are trying to do.

“I don’t really look too much into stats and runs and for me even though we didn’t get the result at Exeter there was enough in the performance to suggest we are still on the right track.

“We probably need to do a little bit more of the things we did well and cut down on some of the negatives but on balance although disappointed with the result, I wasn’t with the performance.

“I Know Mark Cooper and how Forest Green want to play, we know that every team in this division has their strengths and we will have a game plan to nullify that while striving to get into the opposition half and penalty area as much as we can.

“Mark’s had a few years now cementing his philosophy and that’s what you get with longevity. I’ve got a lot of time for him and ultimately he wants to get success as all coaches do.”
