SUPPORTING THE EFL DAY OF DISABILITIES

A look at some of the work of the Northampton Town Community Trust

3 December 2019

Tuesday December 3 is the EFL Day of Disabilities, and throughout the day via the @NTFC_CT Twitter feed, we will be showcasing what Northampton Town do in the community to help improve the lives of those with a disability.

The Northampton Town Multi-Disabled Football Club has over 80 participants on their Friday sessions at Moulton. For more information on our Multi-Disabled Football Club on Friday evenings please see ntfccommunity.co.uk/multi-disabled-football-club

Did you know that 402 different people have so far taken part in our disability sessions in 2019? In addition to this, 200 participants came along to the Annual Disability Festival at the PTS Academy Stadium in the summer.

This week, the Northampton Town Community Trust are launching our brand new disability and mental health coaching sessions, Every Player Counts! Come along and join us in Kettering and Northampton.

We have four new weekly Every Player Counts sessions, two will be supporting people with a disability and two will be supporting those who are struggling with their mental health to get active, meet new people and improve their wellbeing

We have provided support to four special schools across the year working with teachers and young people to deliver targeted PE and physical activity sessions.

Did you know that we run pan disability holiday courses every half term, supported by BBC Children in Need, our next one takes place in the February half term, for more information or to book your place, please go to ntfccommunity.co.uk/bookings

Meanwhile, did you know that we have supported participants with 9 different identified disabilities?

Earlier this season, we raised over £2,000 for loyal volunteer and multi-disabled coach, Mustafa El-Bayati, to enable him to get a new wheelchair!

In addition to this, we currently run Down’s Syndrome football sessions on Sundays at Goals in Northampton each week from 10:30am until noon. For more information please email Russell Lewis at r.lewis@ntfc.co.uk

Our brand new turn up and play disability sessions run weekly at the Northampton International Academy. The sessions provide structured, inclusive sessions for anyone with a disability. For more information, again please email Russell.

Finally, we will be holding our annual Disability Festival at the PTS Academy Stadium in May 2020, come and book your slot now! ntfccommunity.co.uk/bookings
