DOUBLE INJURY BLOW IN BOXING DAY DEFEAT AT CRAWLEY

Northampton Town manager Keith Curle sent his best wishes to Harry Smith and Shaun McWilliams after both were stretchered off during the Boxing Day loss at Crawley Town.

“My initial reaction is that they both look like bad injuries,” he said.

“I’ve watched them again in slow motion and neither of them look good.

“Harry has been advised by the club doctor here to go to A&E straight away and Shaun will be looked at first thing tomorrow."

Speaking about the performance he said:

“We didn’t do what we are good at today and that’s getting on the front foot.

“Our basic defending was poor and we didn’t switch on.

“The first three goals we conceded came from throw ins and the fourth was childish defending.

“We were disjointed as a defensive unit and I think five goals of the last seven we’ve conceded have been from throw ins in the final third.”
