Northampton Town's youth team began their 2019/20 EFL Youth Alliance season with a visit from Cambridge United at Moulton College on Saturday.
After going behind early on, the Cobblers came back to win 5-1 with Josh Flanagan (2), Michael Harding, Caleb Chukwuemeka and Ethan Johnston from the club's Football & Education programme on the scoresheet.
"Cambridge scored a stunning goal to take the lead but the reaction to falling behind was superb and that really sparked us into life," said under 18s coach Jon Brady.
"The boys showed great character, we've worked hard in pre-season and it's great to get a win and five goals in our first game."
