KEITH CURLE FRUSTRATED BY NARROW OPENING DAY LOSS

Cobblers boss Keith Curle felt his side should have taken something from the narrow opening day defeat to Walsall.

“We created more than enough chances to win more than one game but the bottom line is you have to score goals to win games,” he said.

“We put some good balls into the box but we just needed that little bit extra guile and aggression.

“At times we could have got more people into the box and on a few occasions we really needed to hit the target but I hope the supporters could see what we were trying to do.

“It’s always better to gel and bond in a winning team but there is a long way to go and we’ve got some really good characters in the changing room.

“There are some things that need ironing out both individually and collectively but there were a lot of positives.

“We are hoping with Alan McCormack that it’s just cramp but we will assess that in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
