Cobblers boss Keith Curle says his squad can look forward to testing themselves against a very good side as he looks ahead to Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup first round tie at Swansea City.
“Swansea have got a very good ethos in how they want to play the game and it’s an opportunity for us to go and test ourselves against a team who have got a foundation in place,” he said.
“It’s difficult to know what team they will pick but the DNA of their team and how they want to play won’t change.
“I’ve been to Swansea a few times, it’s a great stadium and it’s a club that has come a long way. The infrastructure of the club behind the scenes is in place and a lot of credit has to go to the foresight and continued progression that the club has shown.
“They are an example of what can be achieved but you need that starting point and that’s why I’ve said right from day one that our housekeeping needs to be in order because previously there was an imbalance. We are heading the right way and Tuesday gives us a good chance to test ourselves.”
