Northampton Town's youth team welcomed AFC Bournemouth to Moulton College on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division 1 fixture.
Jacob Ballinger put the Cobblers in front with a long-range strike but AFC Bournemouth equalised late on as the game ended 1-1.
"It was a good performance, especially in the first half," said under 18s coach Jon Brady.
"In the second half we had to hold off a bit of a storm but I felt we were in control of the game out of possession until Jay Williams got sent off. We couldn't quite hang on after that and unfortunately succumbed to a goal late on."
