COBBLERS BOOSTED BY VISIT FROM MIGHTY MAGNUS

Club supporting local youngster fighting neuroblastoma

26 April 2019

As they prepare to face Yeovil Town at the PTS Academy Stadium on Saturday, Northampton Town's players had a very special visitor at training on Friday.

Magnus, who is from Northampton, is a true warrior who is fighting neuroblastoma and is nearly at the end of 18 months of NHS treatment.

High-risk neuroblastoma, as the name suggests, has a really high risk of relapse. If the cancer comes back, 9 out of 10 children will not respond to further treatment due to the aggressive nature of the disease and the situation becomes terminal.

His family are taking Magnus to New York to access a clinical trial that is not available on the NHS and is showing promise in reducing the chances of relapse. They are fundraising with the support of the charity Solving Kids’ Cancer, because the one-year treatment will cost over £220,000.
