On-loan Brighton defender George Cox is set to link up with the Cobblers squad again after completing a period of rehabilitation with his parent club.
Jordan Turnbull is meanwhile responding well to treatment on his ankle with Junior Morias (appendicitis) also back in training.
“George will hopefully be joining us in the next few days,” said boss Keith Curle.
“He’s back to his field based rehabilitation now, he set a target himself of being back for the Notts County game but that might just be a few days too soon.
“Junior is back training with the squad as well and he will be trying to put himself in contention for Saturday.
“Jordan has undergone a course of injections for his ankle but he is reacting positively.
“Shaun McWilliams suffered a slight reaction to his hamstring last Saturday but hopefully he will be okay.”
