DEAN AUSTIN REFLECTS ON THE VISIT OF TRANMERE ROVERS

The views of the Cobblers boss

1 September 2018

Cobblers boss Dean Austin reflects on Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers.

“I didn’t think we were as good as we have been at home but I still felt we did enough to win the game,” he said.

“We had chances again but didn’t work their goalkeeper enough. We are getting in the right areas though and I’m sure it will click for us.

“We are trying to build the way we play and there are improvements we need to make in our game but we will get better.

“We are doing an awful lot right but we just need to be more ruthless and show a bit more composure in front of goal.

“I’m very upbeat and very positive and I honestly believe it’s a matter of time before we click into gear.

“I don’t think that there is too much wrong but I’ve got to find that magic formula to see us win at home.

“I want the fans to enjoy the way we play but I want to give them victories.

On the injury picked up by goalscorer Junior Morias, Austin added:

“I’m gutted for Junior because it looks like he has pulled his hamstring.

“It’s an absolute sickener for him, I was really pleased for him when he scored and he is an absolute shining light in the dressing room.”
