DANIEL POWELL MISSES OUT WHILE JUNIOR MORIAS FACES SPELL ON SIDELINES

Daniel Powell’s hamstring injury is still being assessed while Shaun McWilliams is a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Port Vale after picking up a knock against Cheltenham Town last weekend.

Junior Morias (also hamstring) is meanwhile facing up to two months on the sidelines.

“Shaun picked up a knock on Saturday and we are going to have to monitor him closely before making a decision for the weekend,” said boss Dean Austin.

“Daniel is still being assessed but it looks like Junior is going to be out for a little while.

“It was a serious injury but the positives are he doesn’t need an operation and he’s a quick healer.

“He’s started his rehab but we have to be cautious.

“We are well aware that we have had three hamstring injuries now, we are working the players hard but I think we need to. I’ve worked this way for 14 years and I’ve never had three muscle injuries like this. One can happen, two is unfortunate but when three happen we ask questions of ourselves. We have been looking at everything though, the data, the workload, the type of work we do and no stone will be left unturned.”
