Northampton Town Ladies won their first home game of the season in a thrilling 6-2 win against Notts County win at the PTS Academy Stadium on Sunday.
Manager Gary Moss was delighted with the performance from his team.
“It was a really good performance, especially in the second half, we had to tweak a few things at half time but as a general it was a good performance and a thoroughly deserved win,” he said.
“We worked the girls hard during pre-season, we did it last season and that paid off with us being probably the fittest team in the league, it shows that the hard work they put in does pay off.”
Cobblers Ladies captain Sara Wait was proud of her team following the win, adding: “We played some excellent football, we played it on the ground and we deserved the goals we got.”
Striker Emma Dunmore put in a player of the match performance for the Cobblers, scoring four of her side's 6 goals. She said: “It was great to play here at the PTS Academy Stadium and being a massive Cobblers fan it was a fanstatic feeling to get myself on the scoresheet."
