REMEMBERING FRED LESSONS WHO WAS KILLED 100 YEARS AGO TODAY

Club remember former player and manager

7 September 2018

Friday September 7th marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of Fred Lessons.

Lessons was killed on 7th September 1918, just before the war ended, and was a former Northampton Town player and manager.

In fact, Lessons is still tenth in the club's all time goalscoring list, and his grave is in the Eterpigny Cemetery in Northern France, not far from where Walter Tull was killed and close to Arras, where Tull himself is remembered.

Kelvin Thomas laid a wreath at the grave of Lessons and paid his respects to a very brave man and a true Cobblers Great during a visit to France last March.
