Cobblers boss previews Tuesday night's tie against Wycombe Wanderers

3 September 2018

Cobblers boss Dean Austin previews the visit of Wycombe Wanderers in the Checkatrade Trophy.

"I see it as a very important competition with an opportunity to go to Wembley at the end of it," he said.

"Opportunities for players to play in a final at Wembley don't come around that often and this is a competition we will be taking very seriously.

"I don't think there is too much between us and Wycombe and I thought we played very well in the Carabao Cup game.

"Saturday was another game we should have won, we are getting into great areas it's just that final little piece we are looking for.

"We are doing a lot of things right and as long as we keep our focus things will turn for us.

"We will turn this form around, we've just got to maintain the level of performance. The ball hasn't quite run for us this season but I don't think there is any doubt we have played some very good football. The mood is positive and I think the supporters appreciate what we are trying to do."
