KEITH CURLE SAYS MACCLESFIELD TRIP WILL BE A 'MASSIVE CHALLENGE' FOR HIS SIDE

Cobblers boss Keith Curle says he feels Tuesday night’s trip to Macclesfield Town will be a big challenge for his side, coming just a few days after the home side secured their first win of the season.

“Macclesfield will be a challenge and I think this whole season is going to be about challenges,” he said.

“They are fighting for their lives, they got a monkey off their back on Saturday and they will be looking to build on that.

“I put pressure and demands on my team to perform and we need to make sure we have the right mindset.

“We are in a learning industry; there are always areas we think we can improve both individually and collectively.

“I don’t like losing but I thought in the second half on Saturday we really pushed hard to try and get something out of the game. We didn’t get close enough to them in the first half but in the second half we were on the front foot and I was pleased with the reaction of the players. There was a desire and a willingness to get back in to the game after we went a goal down and on another day we come away with something.”
