Northampton Town manager Keith Curle has praised Academy player Jay Williams after the youngster made his league debut at Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night.
“Jay didn’t show any nerves and I think he enjoyed the experience," said the Cobblers boss.
“He wasn’t playing in his natural position but I thought he adapted well.
“The players really welcomed him into the group and I think to be a successful club you need a welcoming environment.
“The youth team have had a fantastic start to the season, I’ve got a good relationship with Jon Brady and any player that he recommends to come and train with the first team we will have a look at."
Curle also confirmed Yaser Kasim is back training with the first team.
“Yaser is training with the first team and as with everybody he will get an opportunity.
“There maybe an opportunity for him to go out on loan but that will only happen if it’s right for him and the football club.”
