JON BRADY SAYS YOUTH TEAM OVERWHELMED BY SUPPORT THEY RECEIVED

Reaction to Tuesday's FA Youth Cup win

31 October 2018

Northampton Town under 18s coach Jon Brady was delighted as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 4-0 FA Youth Cup first round win against King’s Lynn Town at the PTS Academy Stadium.

Jack Daldy bagged a brace with Morgan Roberts and Scott Pollock also on target.

“King’s Lynn were well drilled and they worked very hard and it took a while for us to break them down,” he said.

“The boys stayed patient, continued to move the ball very quickly and although we missed a lot of chances we still kept the belief in the way we wanted to play.

“We showed a lot of good movement to get in behind King’s Lynn and there were some good finishes in the end.

“The group believe in themselves and each other and overall I’m just pleased that we are through to the next round.

“It’s another home game in the next round and the good thing now is the boys have had a taste of playing at the PTS. It’s always good to get that first one out the way and we were overwhelmed by the support we got from the fans.

“On behalf of myself, all the players and the staff I’d like to thank everybody who came on Tuesday night and we are all very appreciative of the support we’ve received.”

The Cobblers will now host the winners of the first round tie between Swindon Town and Moneyfields.
