Cobblers boss Keith Curle was disappointed as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-2 Emirates FA Cup first round defeat at Lincoln City.
Goals from Jack Bridge and Kevin van Veen saw the Cobblers come from two goals down before Bruno Andrade struck an injury-time winner for the Imps.
“I’m disappointed because I felt we showed some good character to get ourselves back into the game,” he said.
“We are still on a learning curve and we need to make sure that we keep doing the simple things well.
“We are still building the foundations and we need the right players making the right decisions at the right time.
“I think we played our part today but we couldn’t quite get the result we wanted.
“The boys are disappointed but we are still building. Today was the magic of the FA Cup and it went Lincoln’s way. There were positives from our performance but we are disappointed to be out the cup.”
