Sunday 4th November saw the top of the league Northampton Town Ladies take on bottom of the table Thrapston.
The last time the two sides met was last season's Northamptonshire County Cup semi-final where Cobblers ran out 3-2 victors.
The Cobblers started the game confidently and controlled the majority of possession throughout the 90 minutes, limiting Thrapston to minimal chances.
Despite the possession though, the Cobblers found it difficult to break down Thrapston’s defence and half time arrived with the game still goalless.
The Thrapston defence was finally broken after 56 minutes when Emma Billenness broke from defence to take on and beat three players before scoring a fine individual effort.
After 64 minutes some good build up play for Cobblers ended with Georgie Powell delivering the ball into the thrapston penalty area which Emma Dunmore ran on to and volleyed beyond the keeper to make it 2-0.
The Cobblers Ladies would like to thank the fans who travelled to Blisworth to show their support. As always it was great to see the younger players there cheering the team on!
