Cobblers caretaker boss Dean Austin previews the final game of the season, against Oldham at Sixfields on Saturday, and is demanding a big performance.
"It's not an easy situation but I want us to come out fighting," he said.
"We owe it to ourselves and we owe it to the fans.
"No one will be getting any favours from us on Saturday, especially not Oldham.
"This group has a lot more to give and the momentum that you leave a season with is what you take into the next season and this club needs to hit the ground running next season.
"When we go out we are playing for the badge on the shirt and for our supporters.
"No one is going to feel sorry for us and we can't feel sorry for ourselves. I'm recovered from last weekend and I'm ready to go."
