Northampton Town manager Dean Austin has heaped praise on the club's Academy.
James Goff, Joe Iaciofano, Shaun McWilliams and now Morgan Roberts and Sean Whaler have come through to sign professional contracts in recent times with the hope that others will follow, and Austin is very impressed with the work of the Academy.
“The guys in the academy are doing a fantastic job and I want people to be excited about what we have here," he said.
“There is a route through to the first team here and if you are good enough you will get an opportunity.
“We have short, medium and long-term targets as a club, for me I’m looking mainly at the short-term for now but I’ve also got an eye on the medium to long-term as well.
“We want to develop players and for me age is just a number. If a player is good enough, they are old enough.
“My priority is to win football matches but hopefully I’ll be here long enough to see some of the young players we’ve got here coming through.”
