Northampton Town manager Dean Austin says that no-one can make any guarantees in football, but he will be calling on his experience of being successful in League 2 as he plans for the 2018/19 season.
“I certainly believe that we will be competitive next season," said the Northampton Town manager.
“It won’t be easy and I know how difficult the division is but when I was head of recruitment at Southend we built a team that went from League 2 to the Championship in consecutive seasons.
“It is achievable but you have to make sure you have the right players, the right balance and the right characters and I think we do have that.
“This is a smashing club and I believe there is an opportunity to build something special here.
“The support the fans gave me and the team in the last few weeks made me feel that we can achieve something very special and that is our aim.”
