Action from the first day of the junior football event at Sixfields

Day one of the Cobblers Cup took place on Saturday, as the under 7s and under 9s took to the Sixfields pitch.

We would like to say a big thank you to the following teams for taking part:

Wixams Wanderers Storm, Heyford Athletic, Santos Panthers, Winslow United Pumas, Roade Falcons, Hampton FC, Dunstable Town, Middleton Cheney, Hinckley Town Juniors, Towcester Town, Blisworth Yellows, Delapre Dragons, Wellingborough OG’s, A* Academy of Football, Corby Kingswood, Gregory Celtic, Blisworth Greens, Oxfordshire Skill Acquisition Academy and Wixams Wanderers Warriors.

Hinckley Town Juniors, Moulton Magpies White FC, Corby Warriors Guardians, Needingworth Colts, Kingsthorpe Jest Meteors, Deanshanger Colts, Moulton Magpies Black FC, Corby Kingswood White, Kettering Ise Lodge, Oxfordshire Skill Acquisition Academy, Wollaston Vics, Elite United, Stoke Hammond Knights, Bilton Ajax FC, Burton Park Wanderers Milan and Parklands Tigers FC.

In the under 9s, Hinckley Town Juniors were crowned Cobblers Cup winners. 

We would like to say thank you to the players, referees, parents and coaches for their support, positive attitudes and conduct throughout the day making it enjoyable for all involved.

Academy Manager Trevor Gould said, "We had a really successful first day, it was fantastic to see so many youngsters down here at Sixfields enjoying their time. We would like to thank all of the players, their parents and coaches and match officials for making day one such a success.

"Credit also to Matt Chart, our Lead Foundation Phase Coach, for organising such a well run event."

On Sunday it is the turn of the under 8s and under 10s!
