TEAM NEWS: CROOKS SUSPENDED BUT VAN VEEN IS IN CONTENTION

All the team news ahead of Saturday's game at Sixfields

Midfielder Matt Crooks will miss the next three games through suspension after being sent off for the third time this season in the 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers last weekend.

Striker Kevin van Veen (knee) could be back in contention with Aaron Pierre and Aaron Phillips (both thigh) the only two long-term absentees.

"Kevin will train on Thursday and if he comes through that fine he should be okay for Saturday," confirmed boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

"He had an injection on Monday to clear up a bit of irritation, he's a fit lad but we will have to fully assess him nearer to the game."

Hasselbaink also spoke about the impact of new signing Kevin Luckassen:

"Kevin had a great debut on Saturday, goals are important but he did so much more in the game than just score. He held the ball up, brought other players into the game and it was a very good start for him. It's now a case of building on that.

"He can't play 90 minutes yet but he is getting fitter and fitter."
