JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK PRAISES SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE

The Cobblers boss reflects on Saturday's draw at Bristol Rovers

10 March 2018

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised the second half performance of his team as he looked back on the 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers.

"We have to look at it as a point gained," he said.

"In the first half we were second best, the intensity wasn't there from us and when we had the ball we lost it far too quickly.

"The second half was much better and I felt we matched Bristol Rovers. The back four did really well and the players battled hard.

"Kevin Luckassen took his goal well, he is a strong boy and he can hold the ball up. We want to get him fitter but hopefully the goal will boost his confidence and he can build on it.

"Matt Crooks' sending off was very disappointing, I thought he was very unfortunate with his first yellow card and in my eyes the referee had a very inconsistent game today but when you have a yellow card you need to play a different way."
