SUPPORTING THE LEVEL PLAYING FIELD WEEK OF ACTION

Club proud of our disability work

7 March 2018

Northampton Town are proud to support the Level Playing Field (LPF) week of action.

LPF’s Weeks of Action were established in 2005 to help highlight the positive initiatives undertaken by clubs, sporting venues and their governing bodies in partnership with disabled sports fans.

Here at Northampton Town, we are particularly proud of our work with disability football.

The highlight of our wide ranging, varied work is the annual disability festival that takes place at Sixfields each May, giving players the opportunity to play on the pitch at Sixfields.

Beyond that though, there is much, much more. We have multi disability squads who proudly represent the club at the following levels: Under 8
Under 16, Ladies, Conference, League and Championship.

All of the teams play in a league in Oxford called the BOBI LEAGUE and friendly fixtures when possible against other disability clubs.

The squads train at Moulton College each Friday evening.

Northampton Town also run a Downs Syndrome squad who train each Sunday morning at Goals Soccer Centre in Northampton. The squad is 10 strong and they play in the national finals each year.

The club have 80 players registered to their multi disability squads and we are very proud of each and every one of them!
