PREVIEW: JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK SAYS COBBLERS WILL HAVE TO TRY AND KEEP HOME CROWD QUIET

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to Saturday's game at Bristol Rovers

8 March 2018

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink knows at first hand how tough Saturday’s away game at Bristol Rovers will be.

Rovers won 6-0 at Sixfields back in October and although it will be a much-changed Cobblers side from that day when the teams meet again this Saturday at the Memorial Stadium, the Northampton Town manager is expecting another tough game. Hasselbaink was at Milton Keynes last weekend to see Rovers win 1-0 at Stadium:MK.

“We have more or less a different team now compared to October but what happened that day we had to learn from and it is still in the back of our mind,” he said.

“I watched Bristol Rovers at MK Dons last Saturday and I thought Rovers were the better team.

“We know that they are a good team but MK Dons did give them some problems and hopefully we can learn from that.

“Bristol will make it hard for us and it’s always quite a hostile atmosphere there but we will have to cope with that.

“We need to be strong, play positive football and try to keep the crowd quiet.”
