ABINGTON VALE PRIMARY SCHOOL PROUDLY REPRESENT CLUB IN EFL KIDS CUP

School do club proud in tournament

8 March 2018

Congratulations to Abington Vale Primary School, who represented Northampton Town recently at the EFL Kids Cup South Regional Finals. The event took place at the Oxford Academy School, and featured eleven other professional clubs and their respective representatives schools. Each school that had qualified for this stage had done so by winning their local EFL Kids Cup Tournament.

After being drawn in a tough group – including Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth, Peterborough United, Southend United, and Walsall – our boys demonstrated exactly why they had earned the right to progress to this stage of the competition. They competed extremely well and did the club and their school very proud. Unfortunately, they did not qualify for the semi-finals, eventually finishing joint third in the group behind Southend United and Walsall. However, they left with their heads held high, as they were unbeaten throughout the entire day.

Northampton Town Football Club would like to thank the Abington Vale Primary School players and staff for all their hard work in getting this far. The school have worked closely with Northampton Town Community Trust this year and have been part of our Premier League Primary Stars project. For more information on how Northampton Town Community Trust and our Premier League Primary Stars can benefit you and your school, please contact Lucan Burge at lucan.burge@ntfc.co.uk, or alternatively call 01604 683726.
