Northampton Town manager Dean Austin has confirmed that full back Aaron Phillips is training with the club during pre-season.
Phillips, who missed most of last season through injury, is out of contract but is working with the Cobblers squad to build his fitness up.
“Aaron has been training with us,” said the Northampton Town manager.
“He has had a horrific run over the last twelve months with two operations and it’s just great to see him back out on the grass.
“When I spoke to him I said I couldn't offer him anything because I’d not seen him play but that he was more than welcome to come back in for pre-season.
“He is working hard and we are just taking things day by day.
“He doesn’t look rusty with the ball and he doesn’t look any different to the other players and that is a huge tribute to him given the amount of football he has missed.”
