DEAN AUSTIN TAKING TIME TO GET APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT MANAGER RIGHT

Cobblers boss in no rush to appoint his assistant

9 June 2018

Northampton Town manager Dean Austin says he is more than happy to take his time over the appointment of an assistant manager.

"I'm very relaxed with the situation," he said.

"I've spoken to four or five people but I want to get the right person.

"I want to make sure I get the right character and right foil for me and the group and the right person to help me take this great club forward. I will take as long as I need to get the right person, we are in no rush."

Meanwhile, the Cobblers boss said his plans for pre-season were progressing well.

"We are slowly getting our schedule together and we are really looking forward to getting started.

"Our standards need to be better this year and we are actively trying to do things with the training ground and the environment.

"Everyone needs to be willing to go that extra yard and our standards and core values need to be right from day one.

"It's a really tough division, there is no let up and we need to be ready."
