Northampton Town manager Dean Austin is pleased with the fitness of the squad at the start of pre-season.
The Cobblers players reported back to Moulton College on Monday, and spent the first day undergoing testing before training began on Tuesday, and Austin is happy with what he has seen.
“The boys look in good shape,” he said.
“This group always work hard and straight away you could see that they were all in pretty decent nick.
“I’ve been ready to come back since the middle of May and we’ve been working hard on making sure we are well prepped and everything is organised for the next six weeks.
“Preparation is everything for me, I’m a stickler for organisation and for me the small details make a big difference.
“Our plans are not going to change, we might refine things a little bit but if the first couple of days are a benchmark of what we can expect this year then I’m very optimistic.”
