Northampton Town manager Dean Austin is expecting a step up in quality as he looks forward to Saturday’s pre-season game at St Albans City, which has a 12.30pm kick off.
“St Albans will be even more of a test than Sileby because they have got a bit more quality,” he said.
“We want to test ourselves and see what level we are at.
“It will be two different teams again on Saturday but we will mix it up a bit.
“Matt Crooks had an injury at the end of last season and we took it pretty steady with him over the summer.
“We wanted to get two weeks training under his belt and we didn’t have him in mind for Sileby but I see no reason why he won’t be involved on Saturday.
“Dean Bowditch is making good progress and he should be back with the group in the next seven to ten days.”
