Cobblers boss Dean Austin said he was pleased to get the pre-season fixtures under way as he reflected on Tuesday's game at Sileby Rangers.
“Everybody came through okay,” he said.
“We’ve had a tough week in training and credit to Sileby they made it really difficult for us.
“Most of the work we’ve done in training has been with the football and the players have put some good work in.
“We have only been back for just over a week and there are always positives and we are just trying to get ourselves as physically prepared as we can for the long, gruelling season ahead.”
