The Cobblers boss on Saturday's trip to St Albans City

9 July 2018

Northampton Town manager Dean Austin said he was content with the progress of his side as he reflected on Saturday’s pre-season game at St Albans.

The Cobblers won the game 4-0 with two goals apiece for Daniel Powell and Billy Waters.

“There were a lot of positives but there is still a long way to go,” he said.

“We are making steady progress and the most pleasing thing on Saturday was starting to see some of the stuff we have been working hard on in training coming through.

“Our movement was good and that’s something we have been working hard on in training.

“The lads have been working really hard, we have a plan for this season and the way we want to do it.”
