Cobblers boss Dean Austin said he was encouraged by the performance of his team as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 3-0 pre-season friendly win over Barnet at the PTS Academy Stadium.
“It was encouraging and I thought we had some very good play, especially in the first half,” he said.
“It is always good to see your strikers get on the scoresheet, the first goal was a good header, the second was a great team goal and the third was an unbelievable strike.
“We are working very hard on all the facets of our game, we have got a good squad and we have got a lot of options.
“We have got a lot of players who can adapt to different situations and that is important because you are not going to be able to control any game of football for 90 minutes. You need to be able to manage games with and without the ball.”
