JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK THANKS SUPPORTERS AFTER WIN OVER MK DONS

The Cobblers boss looks back on Saturday's win over MK Dons

20 January 2018

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was very pleased as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-1 home win over MK Dons, a result that lifted the Cobblers out of the relegation zone and up to 18th in Sky Bet League 1.

“The most important thing is the three points and when we play with that intensity we put teams under pressure,” said the Cobblers boss.

“In spells we were brilliant and it was good to see the way we were playing but we also made mistakes and we need to look at that and improve.

“I’m pleased with the win but we want more and we want to keep that positive feeling for as long as possible.

“Joe Bunney gave us a bit more going forward and that gives us an extra dimension in terms of scoring goals. It did leave us a bit more open and you need to know your weaknesses but I’d rather focus on the positive.

“The determination and togetherness of the group was second to none and the atmosphere was amazing. The fans really came out, it was the biggest crowd of the season and we have to thank the fans for that. We are very grateful and hopefully they will enjoy this result.”
