25 January 2018

Northampton Town's Football in the Community scheme have been working in Lings Primary School since September and have inspired the children to enjoy football and be physically active.

The school's lunch time club is well attended with over 30 pupils attending from years 3-6 and the school report a long waiting list.

The school report that the club's sessions have not only improved their ability, coordination and balance skills but also their confidence and interpersonal skills.

Mrs Davies, PE Co-ordinator at Lings Primary, has noticed a significant change in the children's attitude to the sport, especially from the girls, along with a willingness to try new activities and greater confidence.

Charlie, who attends Lings Primary School, said, "I love the coaching from the Cobblers, particularly the skills sessions as it gets us moving straight away and I have improved so much over the weeks."

Rebecca added, "I like the skills coaching sessions best and the teamwork games. I am a lot more confident in myself now and enjoy being part of the club."

As part of the partnership, the club were delighted to welcome the pupils from Lings Primary School to the MK Dons game. We hope you had a great time guys!
