Leon Barnett (Achilles) is back in training ahead of Saturday’s home game against MK Dons.
George Smith (ankle) is also close to a return with Aaron Pierre and Aaron Phillips (both thigh) currently the only two long-term absentees.
Jack Bridge could also be included in the matchday 18 on Saturday following his move from Southend earlier this month.
“We aren’t going to see the two Aarons for a while but Leon is back in training which is a big boost for us,” said boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Daniel Powell (hip) came on against Bradford last weekend and the Cobblers boss is pleased with the winger’s progress.
“Daniel is getting back to where he was.
“He was playing really well before he got injured and we need to give him a little bit more time to get back to that.”
