Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praised his players as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Scunthorpe United.
“I’m delighted with a point and hopefully it will prove to be a very important one come the end of the season,” he said.
“I always want more and we probably could have done better with the goals we conceded but compared to Tuesday I was very pleased with the players' commitment and how they conducted themselves. The boys wanted to put things right after the first half against Gillingham and you could see that.
“The fighting spirit was there and I think that pulled us through.
“We haven’t really done ourselves justice in our last two home games but there were some big pluses here today and we want to take that into the game against Oxford.”
