CLUB WELCOMED HARRY TO THE GAME ON SATURDAY

Harry was a special guest at Sixfields on Saturday

5 February 2018

We were delighted to welcome Harry Restall and his family to the game on Saturday.

Harry is 5 and lives in Duston. He has spastic diplegia cerebral palsy meaning that he cannot stand or walk unaided. Harry has been through so much in his lifetime, surviving being born 10 weeks prematurely, having life-saving bowel surgery at just one day old, contracting meningitis and battling several sepsis infections. He has defied all medical expectations in every way. He is a very intelligent, articulate little boy attending reception in mainstream school!

He is an ideal candidate for a life-changing operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy surgery which will help him to walk independently. Most importantly, he will be free from pain as his legs are tight and require regular Botox treatment at Northampton General Hospital. Unfortunately and very frustratingly, neither this surgery nor the intensive physio sessions that is required as part of his post-op rehabilitation are funded on the NHS, meaning his family are having to raise approx £50,000 for treatment in the US.
