KEITH CURLE SAYS FITNESS LEVELS ARE GOOD AHEAD OF BUSY FESTIVE SCHEDULE

The Cobblers boss praises condition of players ahead of busy run of games

19 December 2018

Cobblers boss Keith Curle says his squad is in good shape ahead of a busy festive schedule.

“We go into the busy Christmas period with pretty much a clean bill of health barring one or two,” he said.

“Ash Taylor came off as a precaution last Saturday, he wasn’t able to give one hundred per cent because of his injury but I know we had the squad to be able to cope with that.

“He had a back spasm on Thursday last week and he was only able to give us 45 minutes. Players know their own body and they know when they are not able to perform to the maximum.

“John-Joe O’Toole has been back training out on the grass this week and you know he is the sort of player that as soon as he knows he is ready and able then he will be back.

“The training levels have been very good, I like to test players and then it’s down to them to go and deliver.

“Training is intense but the players have bought into that and I think their fitness levels are very good.”
