Pre match thoughts of the Cobblers boss

30 August 2018

Cobblers boss Dean Austin wants that winning feeling again as his side get ready to host Tranmere Rovers at the PTS Academy Stadium on Saturday.

"It was nice to have that winning feeling on Saturday and I said to the boys after the game, think about this feeling, enjoy it and we want it more," he said.

"We played with a lot of energy and intensity against Colchester and I'm hoping for the same kind of performance on Saturday.

"Tranmere are a decent team, they've got some good players and they have obviously carried on their momentum from last season.

"It's going to be a very tough game but make no bones about it every opponent we have this year is going to be tough. No one is going to roll over for us and let us have it all our own way.

"We respect every opponent but I believe with the group of players we have we are capable of winning any game.

"I'm hungry to win every game we play and I think this team is better when it's on the front foot.

"If we are going to push on this year we need to make this place a fortress, we've deserved more in the two games we've had here so far but we've got to turn those performances into wins."
