Manager Dean Austin was left with mixed feelings following Saturday's 2-2 draw at Carlisle United.
"It's a point but I was quite disappointed with how we played," he said.
"We had a good opportunity to take all three points today and we've just come up a little bit short.
"We created enough chances but I didn't think we did enough with the ball, you are at your most vulnerable when you have just scored and to concede a goal like that was very disappointing.
"The players are gutted and they are not happy with themselves and I think that's testament for the standards we have set and what the players expect from themselves and each other.
"This group will never give in, we had a few words at half-time and we needed to be better.
"We are going to improve but we need a little bit more composure in the final third.
"It was an unbelievable turnout from our fans and If I wanted it for anybody today I wanted it for them.
"John-Joe has been managing a little bit of inflammation in his shin and it just got a bit worse as the game went on. Hopefully he will be okay for Tuesday but there was no point taking any risks with him."
