DEAN AUSTIN - 'FOCUS IS ON US, NOT THE OPPOSITION OR OTHER RESULTS'

Cobblers caretaker manager believes three wins will see Town safe

18 April 2018

Northampton Town caretaker boss Dean Austin says the focus is fully on his team rather than the opposition and he feels that three wins from the last three games will secure survival in Sky Bet League 1.

Rochdale and Oldham Athletic drew 0-0 on Tuesday night, but Austin says results elsewhere are not his concern.

The Cobblers host promotion chasing Plymouth Argyle at Sixfields on Saturday before travelling to Walsall on 28 April. The curtain comes down on the season on Saturday 5 May when Oldham Athletic come to Sixfields.

"I believe if we win all three games we will be okay," he said.

"There will be plenty of twists and turns in the next couple of weeks but we just have to focus on trying to win the next game.

"It's not going to be easy but I have confidence in this group of players and if we perform there is nothing to stop us winning these three games.

"I've tried to bring a real positive ambiance to the group and I've been really pleased with the application of the players.

"What will be will be but we have to take care of ourselves."
