DEAN AUSTIN - 'CONFIDENCE IS FRAGILE BUT WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING'

The Cobblers caretaker boss looks back on Tuesday's trip to Blackpool

10 April 2018

Cobblers caretaker boss Dean Austin felt his side's fragile confidence played a part as he reflected on Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat at Blackpool.

“I'm not going to fault the boys for their effort,” he said.

“The boys gave everything but unfortunately when things have been going like they have you can become a bit fragile when you concede a goal.

“We had our moments and we had opportunities in the first half but the goal just before half time was a blow.

“We have to always believe, I am a very positive person but I’m not stupid and I know it’s a big ask.

“The boys are really down but we’ve got to keep going and we’ve got to change the momentum. Motivation will not be a problem and we will keep fighting.

"We all feel for the supporters. We came here with an excellent following and they really got behind us and we are all really sorry that we couldn't reward them this evening."
