The Northampton Town youth team welcomed Stevenage to Moulton College on Saturday for their latest EFL Youth Alliance fixture.
The Cobblers, who were missing a number of key players, turned in a creditable performance to record a 1-1 draw.
Lewis Irwin opened the scoring, before the visitors equalised with 15 minutes to go.
"There were plenty of positives for us to take," said Academy Head of Coaching Lee Garlick.
"Given the number of players we had unavilable, and the number of under 16s we included, we were pleased with the performance. We felt we were unlucky not to win the game, defensively we looked strong and going forward we were a threat.
"The players showed an excellent spirit and can be pleased with their efforts."
